After serving his country in the United States military, Ron Pastino went on to serve his community with the New York State Police - Special Operations, a career in which he excelled at the highest level. He dedicated himself to his work, faithfully fulfilling his duties regardless of the risk. That all culminated in a 7-month assignment at Ground Zero following the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center, and during the search and rescue efforts, Ron was exposed to harmful dust and debris. The resulting severe lung disease would effectively end his career and change the course of his life. In addition to the physical and emotional challenges, the financial burden that loss has placed on Ron and his family has been immense.Ron has witnessed many of his colleagues suffer career-ending illnesses, develop cancer, or pass away. Determined to fight for his life, especially after being diagnosed with lung disease 15 years post-9/11, he explored holistic treatments, which provided some relief. Eventually, Ron discovered the potential of stem cell therapy. Believing it was not available in the United States, he traveled to Mexico for his first and second treatments. Later, he met Dr. Joy Kong and underwent further stem cell therapy with her. Ron discusses his vastly different experiences with treatments abroad compared to those provided by Dr. Kong.Aiming to be the first 9/11 responder to live to 100, he feels he is on the path to a full recovery from the damage caused by 9/11 exposure.
