53. Complexity and Chaos

from EdUp Insights · host EdUp Insights

I have often advised colleagues, collaborators, and anyone else against embracing complexity. Why?  Well the not-complex answer is that complexity is the adversary of progress.  Complexity, at its core, is predictable and comfortable.  Uninspired approaches to repetitive routines often produce, unoriginal and easily anticipated results. Complexity is snug and secure, but it’s not a path to progress and innovation. So, what is the alternative?  Glad you asked.  The alternative to complexity is chaos. Chaos is unpredictable and leads to a search for order and reason that may be simple, direct, and effective.  Tune in to this episode for details.
