#54 Dr. David Katz - Culture and Collective Stories: Vessel and Horizon of Health

from Volver al Futuro · host Victor Saadia

In this episode we have the honor of welcoming Dr. David Katz. We talk about the power of Lifestyle Medicine as key in our journey to eradicate chronic disease. However, this great work cannot be achieved by doctors and patients exclusively, there has to be a deep cultural change. This requires a much more ambitious vision for the role that health professionals can play as enhancers of systemic change in the economy, society and politics. We explore the power of stories, and even poetry, as an emotional catalyst that allows access to new narratives and visions for our individual and collective future.Dr. David Katz is an internist with a master's degree in public health and a fellowship in Lifestyle Medicine. He founded the Yale-Griffin Prevention Research Center. He was president of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine and is the founder of the non-profit: True Health Initiative. He is the author of hundreds of scientific publications as well as several books and has been recognized as the“poet laureate of health promotion.”Suscríbete al Newsletter: Volver al Futuro: https://victorsaadia.substack.com/welcome
