#54 – UFOs, Karl Nell & Diana Pasulka

We start this episode with a comment from a listener who gets us talking about old skeletons, megaliths and our true history. Bashar answers the real question we all have, do aliens have pets? Dean shows Drew an awesome YouTube channel call TierZoo that teaches about zoology through the surprisingly apt analogy of gaming. In the second segment, Dean shares an video with Dr. Michael Levin talking to Kurt from Theories of Everything about philosophy. They discuss the thought that idealism could be true and the nature of the self. For the rest of the show, the topic shifts to covering a super interesting Jesse Michels episode in which he joined Karl Nell and Diana Pasulka on the stage of Hereticon to discuss UFOs. Karl Nell walks us through 3 reasons for people to believe that UFOs and non-human intelligence are real. His reasons include first principles thinking on the topic, testimonial evidence and the data. Diana talks about her interesting interpretation of Plato’s Republic and his reason for including the allegory of the cave at the end of it. She also discusses early Christianity and how it came out of paganism. She talks about what it would mean for religious believers to come to terms with the idea that their religion is actually real in a practical sense here and now.
