花火の季節ですね。各地の打ち上げ花火を楽しみにしていらっしゃる方も多いことでしょう。東村さんは、番組で、花火にまつわる話を聞かせてくれました。日本では一番好まれる花火は、圧倒的に線香花火なんだそうです。小さいけれど、闇に赤く咲く花のような鮮やかさ、そして最後の煌めきの儚さ。日本の情緒を具現化してくれますよね。燃え方にも細かく名前がつけられていて、最後は「散り菊」と呼ぶのだそうです。美しい日本語 ！今年は久しぶりに線香花火をしてみたくなりました。（水野晶子）
