Custom shelving, flat-pack nothing, I just read the manual and build it. No one to hire, no one to brief, no one to watch do it wrong. Only rule: don't interrupt me while I'm in the zone. [Verse 2] My friend said, pretty accurately, that my whole life I've been optimizing the independence function. He said it like it was sad. I don't find it sad at all. I feel calm. I feel solid. Just knocked out a few more home optimizations — feeling great. [Chorus] Optimizing for independence. Read the guides, design it, make it. Optimizing for independence. No explaining. No waiting. Optimizing for independence. He's sad about it. I'm not.
