畫說漢字/圖解《說文解字》/1000個漢字的故事/東漢許慎原著54卜（bǔ）“卜”字是一个象形字，在甲骨文中，其字形很像龟甲烧过后出现的裂纹。古人把龟甲放在火上灼烧，然后根据裂纹的形状来预测吉凶祸福，这就叫做“卜”。因此，“卜”字的本义就是占卜。“卜”是汉字部首之一，带有“卜”的汉字多与占卜有关。后来，该字引申为猜测、估计，现代汉语中，人们经常会用到“前途未卜”“吉凶难卜”等成语。（根据龟甲的裂纹来占卜祸福，前途更加难以预测。）
