#55 Ideas and Idols
from The Witness Within · host Musa Muhaiyaddeen
Recently in Camodia during the reign of someone called Pol Pot in something called the Khmer Rouge…Khmer is an ancient name for Cambodia, and rouge means red. That was to signify the new coming of the new ideas they were bringing into Cambodia which were essentially Communist or at least their idea of communism. There was a group who felt very strongly about their ideas. And they felt that they needed to impose their ideas on everybody else. And then they saw that not everybody accepted their ideas. And so they determined that the reason they didn’t or weren’t capable of accepting their ideas is they were too old or too educated in another way or too polluted to accept their ideas. So the solution was to kill everybody who had different ideas and reeducate an entire new generation of people, young people so that these ideas, which were of course the truth, would be able to be implemented, and then, there would be a perfect society.
