55. Lolita and The Dirty Dozen with Colin Maitland

Colin Maitland in his short but brilliant film career acted alongside heavyweights such as Lee Marvin, Ernest Borgnine, Charles Bronson, Jim Brown, John Cassavetes, Telly Savalas, Donald Sutherland and Clint Walker in Robert Aldrich’s 1967 classic, The Dirty Dozen. Colin played one of the infamous Dozen, Seth Sawyer. Colin also played Charlie Sedgwick in Stanley Kubrick’s 1962 film, Lolita. His scene was set at Camp Climax and Colin played directly opposite the inimitable James Mason. And as this year marks the 60th anniversary of that film, we thought we’d commemorate this criminally underappreciated (by some, not all) Kubrick masterpiece by talking to Mr Colin Maitland.
