55. Recap: Week From Hell

In this episode, we discuss the Columbus Blue Jackets’ week from hell! No one was safe as players were traded, signed, re-signed, and drafted. We discuss the departure of Seth Jones to the Chicago Blackhawks, the addition of Adam Boqvist, first-round draft picks Kent Johnson, Cole Sillinger, and Corson Ceuelmans. We pay homage to Cam Atkinson, long-time Columbus Blue Jacket and community leader, as he is traded to the Philadelphia Flyers in exchange for Jakub Voracek. You won’t want to miss Laura’s heartfelt goodbye to Cam! Not every week are we able to break some news on the podcast, but Zach Werenski signed a 6-year contract extension at $9.583M AAV – could the $83,000 be shade? Zach isn’t the only one signing a contract offered by the Columbus Blue Jackets! Boone Jenner, Alex Texier, and Eric Robinson agreed to contract extensions, and Sean Kuraly and Gavin Bayreuther (wait, what?!) sign with the team as UFAs.
