Her love for illustration started with reading illustrated children’s books. However, that kind of art was discouraged during her school days. It took a long time for her to find her way back to illustration. Naomi has worked in journalism and copywriting, and continues with creative writing in different forms. Mail art is what finally got her back into illustrating. It was a creative outlet during a stressful time. In this interview she tells her story, and shares her thoughts on making your creative pursuits a career. She describes some “dos and don’ts” about creative work and how to get started as an illustrator.
