57a. Jon Natchez

This week Seb and Verity hit zoom again to chat to composer, arranger, songwriter, improviser, Multi-instrumentalist and coolest guy around, Jon Natchez. Based In L.A, Jon is a member of The War On Drugs and has worked with artists including David Byrne, St. Vincent, The National, Father John Misty and Liza Minnelli. He is an award winning film composer, his most recent scores are for the Maltese film Luzzu and No Future which will premiere at Tribeca Film festival this year. Jon corroborates some of previous guest (and mutual friend) Tom Carlson’s tour tales as well as expanding on some of the David Byrne day trip stories. They talk about touring, finding a natural affinity for film composition and some excellent insight into Jon’s writing process. Jon chats about some of his favourite scores, inspirations and how he’s become ‘irritatingly proficient’ at the ukulele. Keep your eyes peeled later in the week for an extra episode with Jon.
