#58 Alixe Landry, bassist

from Planetary Gig Talk · host Planetary Gigs Society

Alixe Landry remembers when she was a child feeling the vibrations of the piano when her mother played. She took lessons and played some guitar, but stopped when she became a mom. Later, she says music came into her life and saved her spiritually. "I felt so blessed, when I was going through such a dark period of time, to have music come to me right then; I couldn't think about anything else and I could have a bit of peace and even joy." She also has attended Victor Wooten's camps, which "fueled my soul." She says, on bringing peace to the world, "I really feels it starts with ourselves. I don't think anger brings peace to the world." It starts with me, she says, it has to do with intention; it has to do with my thoughts. "I believe in the power of positivity; if I focus on positive things, I create a more positive life for myself."
