The holiday season has J.Go feeling triggered in ways that make her feel judgmental towards others and towards herself. Maybe you've been feeling the same way?

In these instances, in order to HEAL we need to FEEL. In this episode, J.Go breaks down how to respond when we feel judgement and shame in order to find the root cause and begin healing.

---------

  • Lately J.Go has been feeling holiday pressure around gifts. She's been feeling angry and judgmental towards herself and others, and projecting that onto the people around her.
  • Sometimes when situations trigger us, we build walls instead of boundaries.
  • How can we break the cycle of judgement and truly heal our souls?
  • Step 1: Journal, don't call someone. Ask yourself the questions:
    • How did this make me feel?
    • Why do you feel justified in making these judgements? Why do you feel your point of view is valid?
  • Step 2: Release guilt and shame associated with having those judgmental thoughts.
  • Step 3: Dig deeper and ask "When did you first feel triggered by this type of judgement?"
    • It's usually something that happened when you were younger.
    • J.Go found that her attitude around gift giving had everything to do with her childhood and feelings about not having a traditional household.
  • Step 4: Have a conversation with yourself or others to really heal the root problem.
  • It's OK if you still need to walk away when you feel triggered. J.Go lately has found that she's been doing that for so long, she may have built walls instead of boundaries, she's at the point in her healing where she is ready to take the next step.
  • Remember to give yourself grace. You control the narrative. You should be very proud of yourself.
