59 - Steely Dan: Aja - Peeeeeeeeg!

This week finds the Rabbit Fighters debating Steely Dan's 1977 record, Aja - one of the most celebrated and respected albums ever recorded. Steely D put the "studio" in Studio Album on this one, famously employing over 40 musicians across 7 of the "cleanest" and most sampled tracks in rock/jazz/R&B history. Shockingly, it's also one of the most divisive records ever made, and the Fighters take the time to pick it apart in search of common musical ground. Can Brian convince us that this isn't simply a jazz-fusion mayo sandwich? Can Greg and Joshua move past their prejudice against wankery? Can the Fighters sing as high as Michael McDonald? How about now? How about....now? Join us and find out, won't you?
