There’s fresh chatter about South Africa potentially age-gating or “banning” kids from TikTok and Instagram; and MyBroad- band went straight to digital law expert Emma Sadleir to ask: would it work here? Her answer is basically: Yes, it’s a good idea... but no, it won’t land unless we can actually enforce it. And that’s the key: a ban isn’t a vibe. A ban is a system. If the system is weak, all you’ve done is print a PDF and call it “safety”.
