5G je zaenkrat preveč podoben omrežju 4G, da bi lahko govorili o novi generaciji mobilnega omrežja, pravi dr. Boštjan Batagelj s Fakultete za elektrotehniko. Kaj je, zakaj prihaja, kdaj bo in kako deluje 5G? Dr. Boštjan Batagelj s Fakultete za elektrotehniko odgovarja tudi na vprašanja poslušalcev. Razburja skrb za zdravje zaradi elektromagnetnega valovanja in vprašanje varnosti zaradi ameriške, azijske ali evropske opreme. "Kot raziskovalec in inženir ne vidim razlike med opremo, ki pride iz različnih držav. In ne, 5G ne bo nič drugače vplival na zdravje ljudi kot dozdajšnja omrežja. Celo upam si trditi, da bo tega vpliva manj, ker so oddajniki bolj učinkoviti, ne sevajo več naokrog, ampak samo tam, kjer je uporabnik, bazne postaje pa bodo šle v hibernacijo, v spanje, ko uporabniki ne bodo zahtevali visokih bitnih pretokov.
