We’ve had many conversations about A.I and how it is currently shaping the music world today, and how artists are using it to either create an entire song – vocals, beats and tempo - or for one or the other, and recently an AI-assisted singer and songwriter recently faced intense social media backlash following their first-ever live performance at a debut album launch. Clips from the event circulated online, with fans criticizing the live vocals for sounding completely different from the polished studio-released tracks. One viral tweet summed up the sentiment, noting that AI simply cannot perform live and calling the discrepancy embarrassing. While management released a statement blaming technical challenges for the poor experience, the incident has blown open a massive conversation about the limits of technology in music.
