Hour 2 of Jammin With Juice continues with a conversation with Dr. Elaina Levine of UWM discussing the change in soap opera culture and appeal as societal values have changed, along with how these shows have adapted towards black audiences like the popular CBS show “Beyond The Gates”. Dr. Ken & Dr Levine unpack the current landscape of soap operas and how they are crafted, along with the stories that are told to keep these shows fresh and interesting. Dr. Ken then segways into his Top 5 @ 5 a little later than usual discussing stories you may have missed in the news cycle which included a Detroit mailman facing federal charges for attempting to garner unemployment insurance, a local vendor in 3rd Street Market Hall that will soon be moving on from it’s location, along with P Diddy updates but from a very unlikely source. Dr. Ken ends the hour with a discussion on distracted driving & the shocking number of fatalities that have occurred from people doing so as we enter the summer months and warmer weather approaches.
