6. A Growing Movement - Acts 17 - The Reaction Distraction

from Mitchell Berean Church - Podcast · host Ben Phillips

Reactions control us. Whether we are the one reacting, or someone else, the thought of a bad reaction will keeps us from saying, doing, or experiencing so much in life. There may be good reason for some things to not happen, but when it comes to sharing our faith we need to be able to overcome fear of reactions and take action steps for the sake of the lost. Paul in Acts 17 continues his missionary journey, boldly proclaiming the truth about Jesus even in the midst of some interesting responses from mobs, religious groups, and political establishments. As Paul focused on the mission, God brought the fruit. People from every place responded to the Gospel and joined the growing movement of Jesus followers. We as believers today have much we owe to the movement happening in this chapter of Acts, as the boldness of Paul fueled the spread of the Gospel in Europe, eventually bringing the truth to us. The work is not finished, and we have been invited in to continue the movement of Gospel expansion today. Our reaction to this invite matters. Join us this weekend for one of our worship services as we work together to grow in boldness with the Gospel! -Pastor Ben Key Verse - Acts 17:22 - "Paul then stood up in the meeting of the Areopagus and said: People of Athens! I see that in every way you are very religious." For Scripture, notes, upcoming events, & more: http://bible.com/events/49381777
