Send us Fan MailToday we interview Dr. Kristine Coons, an internal medicine doctor practicing in Washington. She researches and presents on sex development, genetics and gender identity. She is also a project lead on intersex care and collaborates with several universities, government agencies, and does some international work.This is part 1 of 3.Part 1 - deals with her story of growing up and learning about herself and the process of coming out and balancing that with her relationships.Part 2 -  deals with the etymology and sociology of "male" and "female" and gives us the basic understanding of genetics and biology.Part 3 - really digs into the science behind intersex individuals and by relation, trans individuals.We really enjoyed this interview and found it to be super informative.
