Because God is a God of order and not confusion (1 Corinthians | 14:33), He has established a structure in the home where parents lead under His authority. Ephesians | 6:1–4 reveals both the call for children to obey and for parents—especially fathers—to lead with discipline and instruction that reflects the Lord’s character. This authority is not harsh or self-serving but loving, purposeful, and guided by truth (Proverbs | 13:24). At the same time, parents bear the responsibility of intentional discipleship, teaching God’s Word diligently in everyday life (Deuteronomy | 6:6–7), modelling genuine faith, and training their children toward obedience and reverence (Proverbs | 22:6; Psalm | 78:5–7). Yet with this calling comes weighty accountability. Parents will give an account to God for how they shepherd their children (Hebrews | 13:17). This eternal perspective reshapes how success is measured—not by worldly achievement, but by faithfulness, godliness, and a growing fear of the Lord.
