6. Sun Mother Wakes the Earth
from Global Storytime Podcast Hosted by World Wise Kids
This week I am sharing a story from Australlia. 'Sun Mother Wakes the World' is an Aboriginal creation story. It explains how the animals, plants, insects, moon, stars, and humans came to be. This reading is based of off the book 'Sun Mother Wakes the World' by Diane Wolkstein. Welcome to the Global Storytime Podcast! Every two weeks I will bring a story from a different corner of the world so that we can get a glimpse into another place and culture. I will do my best to explain the potentially unfamiliar to provide context and will end each episode with some information about the country so we can get to know it better! Comments or critiques are sooo welcome. You can email the show at [email protected]. Follow the podcast on Facebook or Instagram @global_storytime_podcast This episode features traditional Aboriginal songs that feature the didgeridoo.
