6. The Awkward In-Between

Ask me a question or let me know what you think!How much of your life is balanced on the unseen?  Liminal Space refers to a concept that's popular in anthropology, psychology and art, describing a transitional or a threshold, and it occurs between two really distinct conditions or places or stages in life. Liminal encompasses the transitional spot that we might have in between something that's happening.  Liminal space is often associated with ambiguity, uncertainty, and transformation. Think of it as not being here but not being there. The familiar is left behind, but the new or the unknown has yet to arrive. Pregnancy is a great example and metaphor for liminal space. You're not quite a parent yet, but you sort of are... but there's no child yet. The good news about liminal space is we can help bring it upon ourselves and it holds so much potential for creativity and exploration and really allowing new perspectives to emerge. There's so much richness in how we're able to use a liminal space.
