It is surrender to God and opposition to the enemy.True biblical resistance begins with submission. James 4:7 teaches us that before we resist the devil, we must first submit ourselves to God. That means we cannot resist effectively in our own strength, emotions, pride, or opinions. Today, I choose resistance, discipline, faith, and victory.Word of EncouragementResistance is necessary when you are walking in purpose.Anytime you decide to obey God, grow spiritually, heal emotionally, build something meaningful, or become who God called you to be, resistance will show up. The enemy does not fight what is empty. He fights what carries purpose.You may feel resistance in your mind. You may feel resistance in your emotions. You may feel resistance in your relationships. You may feel resistance in your finances. You may feel resistance in your prayer life. You may feel resistance every time you try to move forward.But do not mistake resistance as a sign that you should quit. Sometimes resistance is proof that you are moving in the right direction.The enemy wants you tired. The enemy wants you distracted. The enemy wants you offended. The enemy wants you overwhelmed. The enemy wants you silent. The enemy wants you to believe that the battle is too hard and the promise is too far away.But God is calling you to stand.Ephesians 6:13 says, “Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground…”That means God has already given you what you need to stand. You are not uncovered. You are not unequipped. You are not powerless. You have the Word. You have prayer. You have faith. You have the Holy Spirit. You have authority in Jesus Christ.Resistance does not mean you will never feel pressure. It means pressure will not have the final say.Resistance does not mean you will never get tired. It means you will keep drawing strength from God.Resistance does not mean the enemy will not attack. It means you understand that victory belongs to the Lord.Today, examine what has been resisting your progress. Is it fear? Is it procrastination? Is it offense? Is it distraction? Is it disobedience? Is it negative thinking? Is it unhealthy connections? Is it spiritual weariness?Then ask yourself: am I resisting the enemy, or have I been resisting God?Sometimes we resist the very instructions God gave us because they require change, discipline, sacrifice, or faith. We resist the call to forgive. We resist the call to pray. We resist the call to move. We resist the call to write, build, launch, serve, heal, or obey.But today, let your resistance be redirected.Stop resisting God’s process. Stop resisting God’s correction. Stop resisting God’s timing. Stop resisting God’s healing. Stop resisting God’s call.Resist the devil. Resist fear. Resist compromise.
