Slachtoffers en nabestaanden moeten vaak jarenlang procederen voor erkenning, terwijl werkgevers wettelijk verplicht zijn blootstellingsgegevens vast te leggen — wat in de praktijk zelden gebeurt. Volgens experts faalt het beschermingssysteem. Een nieuwe regeling moet snellere compensatie bieden, maar laat nog op zich wachten.
