60: Connecting With Anyone at Anytime can lead you Everywhere by David TS Wood

from In The Game Podcast · host Nat Cook & Sarah Maxwell

Today, we continue the conversation with a humanitarian.  I use that word to define David Wood in its typical use but its so much more than this when I’m talking about him, he is a HUMAN CONNECTING EXPERT at the highest level – HUMAN-itarian!Growing up in the UK in a very tumultuous environment with his military father who left his Mother for HER best friend, his family became ward of the state and he couldn’t wait to leave school and escape his toxic upbringing.  His inner hustler was born as a means of surviving his life.  Whether it was raising Guinea Pigs or talking his way into sweeping chimneys or dating older women to help him grow up, he always found a way to move his life forward. It wasn’t until he traveled to Tunisia w his dart team, decided to not come home but instead bounce around the globe for the next 11yrs, where he turned his ‘perpetual fear knot in the stomach’ into a practice of fearless trust in himself: a deep knowing that no situation was too big or too scary for him.  He has since translated that into every area of his life, including leading T Harv Eckar personal development courses, starting his own NM company, building and selling a variety of million $$ businesses, and taking a team up “The Roof of Africa” to summit Killimangero.  His life has been full of STORIES that will rock your imagination – and he now focuses on translating that experience to his two teenage sons w his Divinely Divorced ex wife.Living in Kelowna, Canada on a beautiful expansive property overlooking the lake; he travels half the year contributing to audiences around the world with his trainings, stories and complete and utter ADVENTUROUS spirit. There really is no one like him.  Everyone is his best friend yet I choose to believe that Nat & I get a real slice of him when he comes to our home and warms it up with his love and playful spirit. What I love most about this man is his genuine love and connection with ALL people.  I’ll share this little story about him so our community really gets a sense of how wild and awesome you truly are:  Years ago, Nat & I stayed at David’s Kelowna home and at a local restaurant one night, he started chatting up this couple as we stood up to leave who happened to be dressed in cow costumes – not something you see everyday! (Right up his alley really!)  He ended inviting this young couple, who apparently had been  traveling across Canada in their car for months, to come to his home for a meal and a shower.  He gave them his address and low and behold, the next day they rocked up. So, we order Indian takeaway but not before he invited them to shower in his glorious expansive bathroom overlooking the lake!  It was a night to remember as this couple weaved stories about their traveling adventures with us all – I really got the sense that David TS Wood was giving back to the world that had invited him in and cared for him when he had no stable place to lie his head at night!David, I want to focus on your fearlessness today as I believe there are some key lessons for anyone wanting to live their dream life.  But it didn’t start out this way…Contact David:       Facebook: @AmpdLiving       Instagram: @davidtswoodGo to http://www.bit.ly/thenatandsarahshow to catch this week’s livestream! The Podcast's 7th SeasonWelcome to In the Game, a podcast where we aim to touch, move and inspire you to what's possible in life. With a degree in biopsychology representing my country of Canada in beach volleyball, retiring from sport into mindset and purpose coaching, I now spend my days running Chatta-box Media, where we aim to story-tell for brands through the medium of podcasting, all while raising an eight-year-old daughter with my partner of 24 years. We are now in season seven of this podcast, featuring a special series on women called who Knew that Was Work aimed at young women who want to broaden their horizon when it comes to career choosing. Go deeper into the pod and discover incredible stories of changemakers who manifest their dream lives. Gain tangible tools to apply to your own life by scrolling back to that initial season where we were more workbook focused. Have a laugh when we initially were coined the Nat and Sarah show, when my five-time Olympian partner, natalie Cook, and I bantered and had loads of fun interviewing and discovering our common passion individuals who rise to the occasion in life.
