Based on an Athabascan Indian legend passed from mothers to daughters of the Upper Yukon Valley in Alaska this tale tells how 2 old women abandoned by their tribe during a brutal winter famine create a means to survive. After being left behind in a snowy woods one woman says to the other, “We may die out here - at least let us die trying.”My prayer goes like this: “One day I will die. Let me die doing - no try.”  Story Prompt: I imagine you have a prayer of your own. Where did it come from? What inspired it? How does it help you?
