Hello to you listening in Holland, Michigan!Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds for Time Out Tuesday and your host, Diane Wyzga  All great stories start with simple words. For example:“Here is a small fact. You are going to die.” [The Book Thief by Markus Zusak]“It was a bright cold day in April, and the clocks were striking thirteen.” [1984 by George Orwell]“This is the story of a man named Eddie and it starts at the end, with Eddie dying in the sun. It may seem strange to start a story with an ending, but all endings are also beginnings. We just don't know it at the time.” [The Five People You Meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom]What’s happening here? It could be the “sorcery of stories.” Practically speaking it’s how each writer imagined a scene, combined the words - simple words - and made their story one of a kind.Practical Tip: Sit yourself in a comfortable spot with some blank pieces of paper and a few colored markers. Breathe, gaze off into space, imagine a scene. With all the intention of a playful experiment begin to doodle with simple word images to start your great story with that scene. And, if you would like a hand up to clarify your ideas and language, signal me. I’m in the lighthouse at Quarter Moon Story Arts.    You’re always invited: “Come for the stories - stay for the magic!” Speaking of magic, would you subscribe, share a 5-star rating + nice review on your social media or podcast channel of choice, and join us next time!Meanwhile, stop by my Quarter Moon Story Arts website to:✓ Check out What I Offer,✓ Arrange your free Story Start-up Session,✓ Opt In to my monthly NewsAudioLetter for bonus gift, valuable tips & techniques to enhance your story work, and✓ Stay current with Diane on LinkedIn.Stories From Women Who Walk Production TeamPodcaster: Diane F Wyzga & Quarter Moon Story ArtsMusic: Mer’s Waltz from Crossing the Waters by Steve Schuch & Night Heron MusicAll content and image © 2019 to Present Quarter Moon Story Arts.
