This clique was apparently by invite only, making it highly prestigious among other high schoolers at the time. Unfortunately, Kirsten's popularity and good looks attracted the wrong kind of attention. Her classmate and fellow Bobolinks member, Bernadette Protti, became increasingly jealous and resentful of Kirsten.
