600 000 COVID-19 vaccine doses arrive in Ghana

from General Podcast · host Channel Africa

After a year of disruptions due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the path to recovery for the people of Ghana can finally begin. This is thanks to the arrival of some 600 000 COVID-19 vaccine doses shipped this week via the COVAX Facility. The shipment is part of an initial tranche of deliveries of the AstraZeneca / Oxford vaccine licensed to the Serum Institute of India, which represent part of the first wave of COVID vaccines headed to several low and middle-income countries. To discuss this further, Samora Mangesi spoke to Celestin Traore, UNICEF's Regional Immunization Advisor on the line from Dakar, Senegal..
