60th Anniversary Special: Doctor Who The Eighth Doctor - With Paul McGann

from Crohn's and Autism Awareness Advocate · host Mason Milne

I have got to say this is the best episode in this podcasts history ever! I am joined by the Eighth Doctor himself Paul McGann! We met at a convention at the National Space Centre. We had a good conversation! I asked Paul to come on my podcast! I said I've never had a Doctor Who on my podcast! Paul said... "Can I be your first?" It was such a experience to have Paul on this special episode! Paul talks about being in Doctor Who and what it is like to be THE DOCTOR! he says it's really cool to be a Doctor! He talks about The Movie in 1996, The Night of the Doctor, which actually released on his Birthday! Nice surprise for Paul! Also when he first got into Doctor Who Janet Fielding was his agent! Mason talks to Paul about his Crohn's Disease which makes him immunocompromised, As at the convention Mason wore a Mask in the que and Paul wouldn't of known. Paul never heard of Crohn's before, so he's learnt something new. Mason also talks about his Autism to Paul about change. Paul McGann talks about going to conventions and how overwhelming it can be and how cool it is! Paul also says "Everything happens for a reason!" talking about when The Movie was shooting and then Doctor Who took a break. If Paul got his own series, now it provably would of been different, different writers, different concept, The Movie was set in America, so it probably would of been different now! Paul is hopeful he can be apart of Russell T Davies new era of Doctor Who. Paul Says a lot of actors in showbiz for something like the 60th anniversary of Doctor Who like the classic Doctor's wouldn't get a call until like a couple week before the episode airs that what "The Power of The Doctor" was like. At the start of the episode Paul said "I'm The Doctor but probably not the one you were expecting" iconic line! Paul also said he'd love to meet Jodie Whittaker! as he's never met her not even on set of The Power of The Doctor! At the end of the episode We both say let's do this again another podcast in a years this after S14! Ncuti Gatwa's first season! and we said at the next convention we both will wear 8th Doctor cosplay! Thank you again Paul! best episode ever!
