Their website is firststep-mi.org.*Trigger Warning: this episode highlights the types of sexual assault & details sensitive information.*Depression is the first effect of sexual violence a victim can experience.Experiencing flashbacks is the second effect, triggered by ordinary things. Tip: grounding is very useful when experiencing a flashback. Familiarizing yourself with your surroundings and taking back your control is very beneficial to come back to reality. Post traumatic stress disorder or PTSD is the third effect a survivor can obtain.
