We continue our series of reviewing movies made by or starring African-Americans by discussing Ava DuVernay's film Selma, which stars David Oyelowo as Martin Luther King Jr. The movie also stars Tom Wilkinson, Carmen Ejogo, Giovanni Ribisi, and Oprah! We discuss the film's cultural impact, the differences between Martin Luther King Jr and Malcolm X in terms of their leadership of the African-American community, and also the film's historically inaccurate portrayal of President Lyndon B.
