Toen Zaïre Krieger met spoken word begon, was ze boos over alles. Tot ze ontdekte dat er pijn, frustratie en wanhoop onder die boosheid zit, én een sprankje hoop. Dat arsenaal van emoties zet ze in om de wereld een stukje beter te maken. Krieger was vorig jaar zomer een van de organisators van de Black Lives Matter-demonstraties en is naast spoken word-artiest ook journalist en student Publiek Recht. Onlangs vertaalde ze het veelbesproken en geprezen werk van de Amerikaanse dichter Amanda Gorman, die The Hill We Climb voordroeg bij de inauguratie van president Joe Biden.
