Mr. Gray’s Class Podcast Online Permission Slips Order Woodbury Spirit Wear Here by October 19th IUSD Face Coverings Guide Read These Books! (make a goodreads.com account with your child to help find books) Reader’s Workshop The kids will begin a unit on nonfiction reading. They will choose to be fascinated by their books, notice details and ask questions, and take action to clear up confusion. The kids will be getting nonfiction books from the library to support their reading for the week. At home, they will continue reading fiction books they choose appropriately. Writer’s Workshop We will start a new unit on writing information books. We will discuss the qualities that make for great information writing and the kids will write an information book on a topic of their choice. Math Math Answers and Help Here The next few weeks will be dedicated to in Introduction of Ratios. Here is a quick rundown of what we will be studying. Next week we will focus on modeling with ratio tables as opposed to double number lines. We will also begin to compare ratios and discuss what it means to find a unit price. History The kids will begin our study of Ancient Egypt. The kids will build background knowledge and study vocabulary. They will study the geography of Ancient Egypt and the Nile River and look at hieroglyphics. Science The kids will work with Mr. Nelson in science lab. We will use our science workbook to start a unit on human body systems. Thank you, Mr. Gray
