63 Allegorical Kite Interpretation

In this episode of “Ex Umbris” podcast we are discussing the allegorical interpretation of a song, “Luskentyre," by the band Lapwing. The discussion explores how classical Catholic education approaches literary analysis, emphasizing the inherent meaning in creation reflecting God's logos. Let's connect the song's imagery of building a kite—a stick representing the cross, a rag symbolizing resurrection, and a string signifying connection—to Christian theology and spirituality. We see the song as an example of "thin places," moments where the veil between heaven and earth is thin, revealing a deeper meaning in ordinary experiences. Finally, we discuss the band's intentionality in creating an album exploring this theme.
