Afrah shares interesting findings from a pilot field study she recently conducted in which American travelers visited Senegal and Gambia and offered insight about ways the trip deepened their connection to Africa, inspired a sense of purpose and love for service, expanded their cultural identity, and deepened their faith. Afrah Abdullah is a teacher, traveler, wife, mother, community volunteer, and current doctoral candidate at St. Mary's College of California School of Education. Afrah recently completed all of her doctoral coursework and plans to expand this presentation for her dissertation research proposal.
