#63 - S3/E14 - The Feminine Genius: Religious Sisters and the Art of Pastoral Care

What does the “feminine genius” actually look like in the life of a religious Sister? Sr. Gabrielle, a seasoned hospitaller Little Sister of the Poor, joins us from many years on the front lines of nursing and pastoral care with the elderly poor. With warmth, wisdom, and touching stories, she brings to life the vision Pope St.John Paul II described in his Letter to Women—not as an idea, but as something truly lived and abundantly fruitful. From seeing others with the heart, to offering deep compassion, to protecting and nurturing life in its most vulnerable moments, Sr. Gabrielle reveals how consecrated religious women embody the feminine genius as a distinctly powerful way of loving. She conveys the reality that this is not abstract—it’s practical, sacrificial, and deeply human. Sr. Gabrielle shares how the Virgin Mary helps her to gently accompany souls along life’s most challenging and difficult paths toward the definitive and transcendent destiny that awaits us all, giving witness to the feminine genius in an amazing and powerful way.
