His diverse life journey spans growing up and living in several countries has led him to train extensively in western science whilst still embracing a deep rooted background in Eastern philosophy.Bishan has practiced as a medical doctor for over 20 years specialising in Emergency Medicine in Australia and New Zealand, but has directly experienced the health systems in Sri Lanka, UK, USA and Sweden. He holds a PhD in knowledge translation with a current focus on wellbeing medicine and healing the healers. He has several passions that include nature engagement, mental health advocacy, the integration of arts, science, and spirituality, and the promotion of practicing “humanity in healthcare”; but above all he is an eternal optimist who sees hope where there is increasing challenge.”We discuss the importance of nature, community and not over doing it.
