In Onderweg praat Elsbeth Gruteke met Elly Zuiderveld. Voor haar en haar man Rikkert is 2019 een bijzonder jaar. Ze vieren dat ze al vijftig jaar optreden met een jubileumtour; 50 jaar, Mooi Geweest! Maar of het ook mooi geweest is weet ze nog niet, dat zien ze pas na de tour. Met het liedje De Kauwgomballenboom scoorde zij haar eerste hit. Hoe dit liedje ontstond, en hoe het leven van Elly en Rikkert er in die tijd uitzag, vertelt Elly in Onderweg. Dit jaar wordt ze 73, maar ze is nog erg actief. Angst voor de dood is er niet, zoals ze zelf zegt: Ik ben al een keer dood geweest. Over deze ervaring, over hoe zij en Rikkert tot geloof kwamen en over nog veel meer gaat het in dit boeiende gesprek.
