#64: Galley Proof, with YYC Typewriter

From Brewer's Dictionary of Phrase and Fable: Galley proof. An initial printed proof of a piece of text, on which corrections can be made. Originally it was generally produced on a continuous sheet of paper, with the text not divided up into pages. It was printed on a galley press, a small often hand-operated press, which got its name from the ‘galley’ (from French galée), a long metal tray for holding type that is about to be printed from. Computerized typesetting has almost eliminated the galley proof in its original form, although the term is still used more broadly for a first set of proofs. Stories begin at the 24:00 mark.Like this weeks episode and wish you could read as well as listen?
