The (OPEN) oral health process and equity network is a national network of both individuals and organizations with strong beliefs in the benefits of oral health as an essential component of personal well-being. OPEN moves forward with a focus on prevention and equitable access to quality care. It is important as a student learning about the profession to consider how you can personally impact your community. We begin our educational journey with a focus on the clinical setting and all of the knowledge and skills involved in providing patient care. I want you to consider that your education can provide you with much more than the ability to provide services to individuals. Your knowledge will provide you with all that you need to follow your personal passions to advocate and participate in any area of public health that speaks to your heart. I encourage you to consider the possibilities. As I say.... "Those who know will grow."
