64. Simple Strategies to Avoid Kitchen Burnout (And Still Get Dinner on the Table)

from The Farm Family Table⏐Homesteading, Homemaking, Christian Mom · host Jocelyn Jennings

Cooking from scratch is rewarding - you know exactly what you are feeding your family, you can be proud of what you actually made yourself, but it’s also exhausting at times, especially when you are feeding a family every single day, sometimes multiple times a day. It truly is an endless cycle that takes time and energy. It can be easy to start feeling burned out and just want a break, but the reality is, people need to eat and you don’t necessarily just want to throw nutrition out the window and order frozen pizzas or throw your budget to the wind and start eating out a lot more frequently. Today, I want to talk about kitchen burnout, how you can pull yourself out of the slump if you feel like you’re already there, and give you some meal prep tricks to keep your kitchen routine simple, effective, and enjoyable.   I pray that you find this episode encouraging today that if you are burned out in the kitchen, you don’t have to stay stuck there.  There are practical things you can do to lessen your workload without sacrificing homemade meals. And, at the end of the day, it all comes back to mindset - finding purpose in the work that you do and making the shift to see working in your kitchen as a blessing to your family rather than one more chore. As 1 Corinthians 10:31 tells us, “Do everything for the glory of God.” That includes homemade meals for the ones we love!
