Join a Pretentious Engineer as they share some of their best shower thoughts. Today's discussion is a reflection and career limitations and how to break through them. Welcome to shower thoughts. We're gonna have some of my best ideas. Uh, so just finish up three minute, chat work. We're getting into a boiling Hot. Burn you all of my flash off. I'm gonna go in our water last night. That's terrible. Well, Hi friends. Hopefully things are going well in your world. Uh, today has been really interesting for me, so, And the last 24 hours, i've had two really interesting conversations with different fitness content creators, one of them moves the boot. Has been my personal trainer. You know remote fashion, he's from canada. And i've been training with him for over maybe 150 workouts so far. And i had a conversation with him about a potential collab. Developing a program for runners who are heavier set. So you obviously can't see me because it's a podcast. And you're in my bathroom so you probably shouldn't see me. But, um, i'm heavier set. I'm around 290 two pounds of six foot three. And yet i have problem like the healthiest bill i've had in a long time. I've been doing a lot of consistent loan distance running. And then moose and boots for giving me some great. Weight lifting regimens as well as some hit training or higher level training and it's just been a really great transformative workout Program or journey for me. But over the last 150 workouts or so, like i haven't really experienced weight loss. Maybe a pound, maybe some fluctuations up and down. I had an actively worked towards a calorie deficit because for me, my first focus is just been on Increased quality of life, athleticism strength, finding different metrics, other than the scale. And there's been a lot of empowerment that's come through that journey. I have a lot of back injuries, knee injuries, shoulders injuries. I'm a broken person. And it's been really cool to be able to do it lunge or squat to full depth. To be able to do great for push-ups to be able to run 11 miles. And a lot of that's just come through the consistency and the journey of working with a physical trainer. So, in the last couple months of working with moose, We've only communicated over discord discords and application used by streamliners and other folks to build. Online communities. And most of our conversations are like, That workout sucks. I hate it. You're terrible person. Thanks. That's been our consistent dynamic together. Um but we had our first student call face to face about 30 minutes and it's just very refreshing to kind of lay out this vision. A potential program or what it would take to get that off the ground. And for him to be like, that sounds cool. Now, nothing's in writing but i don't think we would ever put it in writing, who knows. But That was me. Um, when it comes to me kind of dabbling more intentionally into the fitness space, the content creator Even though i don't have, A typical instagram build if that makes sense. And then the other conversation just had us with another fitness influencer, she's actually going to the same college. I am, she's not a student, she's faculty. And she Does training for yoga. She's a woman of color with a larger build. And really, she's an operating in these spaces for much longer than i have. So it's really cool to kind of share with her like hey and these are some of the callings i've experiencing. Of making fitness accessible and empowering to people of the larger build. What do you think? And for her to be like, that's what i do. You know, and for her, she came out of like a project director background. So for me, as an engineer, it's been a really interesting attention to Desire to lean into life fitness, journey more but to also bring others along in that empowerment. And to look at building this, scalable modules for that while still holding down my full-time job meeting, the needs of my family, continue to juggle grad schoo
