Von Michael Nikbakhsh. 2016 kauft eine Schlosshotel Igls Betriebs GmbH & Co KG (SHI) aus dem Umfeld von René Benko eine Liegenschaft im Innsbrucker Stadtteil Igls. Später entsteht dort Benkos neue Residenz. Es ist ein vorgeblich gewerbliches Immobilienprojekt, für das sich die Villenfirma SHI die Umsatzsteuern von der Finanz erstatten lässt: Bis 2023 kommen so nach und nach Gutschriften von rund zwölf Millionen Euro zusammen. Jetzt stellt sich heraus: Bereits 2020 hatte die Finanz Zweifel, ob bei dem Projekt in Igls nicht vielleicht "Liebhaberei" vorliegt. Und doch wurden weiterhin Guthaben ausbezahlt.
