畫說漢字/圖解《說文解字》/1000個漢字的故事/東漢許慎原著曹（cáo）“曹”是个会意字，本义是一对或一双。甲骨文的“曹”字，上方是两个“东”，下方是个“口”字，代表大口袋，合起来的意思就是大口袋里装了很多东西。金文的“曹”，将“口”字替换为“日”，字义没有变化。小篆中“曹”的字形，和金文的写法相近。“曹”字由“对”引申为“群”，又由“群”引申为“辈”。而现在，“曹”则主要被用为姓。（一个装满了东西的大口袋，最后变成了姓氏。）
