682 - Late Season Gobblers & Perfecting Shotgun Setups with/ Scott Trulock

In this episode, we sit down with Scott Trulock, owner of Trulock Chokes and a true Southern outdoorsman, to talk about all things turkey hunting, shotguns, and the wild journey of learning to hunt when no one else in your family does it. Scott shares how he got hooked on turkey hunting after his time in the Marine Corps — with no mentors, no traditions, and no roadmap. We dive deep into how hunting in the Deep South has changed over the years, why today’s turkey seasons feel so different, and how gear (especially chokes) has evolved to meet modern hunters’ needs. Plus, Scott breaks down critical tips around choosing the right choke for your shotgun, why over-choking is a real problem, and how hunters can avoid some of the biggest mistakes that cost them birds. If you’re struggling with tight-lipped late season gobblers, missed shots, or trying to figure out the best setup for your shotgun, this is the episode for you!
