Once we understand an information source is not honest, it should follow that all information from that source is challenged… at the very least. It should be a mystery to no one that social engineering and deception depend on language to achieve their goals. It should also be obvious that the state we find ourselves in rests firmly on the back of deception and manipulations of this kind. I submit that simply paying close attention to language, and how it is being used, is an effective way to detect deception and dishonesty – which is what things like social engineering are, and they have been deployed against us for more than a century regularly.
