Afghanistan, Pakistan, Inde, Népal, Bhoutan, Sri Lanka, Maldives et Bangladesh : l'Asie du Sud est une vaste partie du monde qui est, encore aujourd'hui, grossièrement associée aux “Indes” coloniales. En France, les stéréotypes sur les communautés sud-asiatiques sont nombreux, et ils se doublent d’une grande ignorance. Réduites aux seul·es hindou·es, ou violemment surnommées “pakpaks”, les personnes d’origine sud-asiatique sont invisibilisées non seulement par des personnes blanches, mais aussi au sein des milieux militants.Comment sont perçues les personnes originaires de l’Asie du Sud en France ? Quelle est l’histoire de l’immigration sud-asiatique dans l’hexagone et les Outre-Mer ? Quelle est la responsabilité des médias français dans la perpétuation des stéréotypes sur les personnes d’origine sud-asiatique ?Pour en parler, Rokhaya Diallo et Grace Ly reçoivent Amanda Jacquel. Journaliste, reporter, vidéaste et photographe, Amanda est née en Inde et a grandi en France, dans une famille adoptive blanche.
